Cooking Classes Siena countryside
If you're spending your holidays in Siena, Tuscany and its region, or even just passing through, do not miss the Cooking Class in the countryside, just 10 km out of Siena.
It will be an authentic traditional cooking class where you will enjoy a pleasant stay and the warm hospitality in an Italian family home.
You will learn the secrets of traditional dishes prepared, in this case with excellent local products, freshly laid eggs from our own chickens, home-grown herbs and vegetables (in season of course), cheese and olive oil produced by our neighbors, our own produced wine.
We will help you make pasta dishes that you can easily prepare later in your own country with products you can easily find abroad, surprising your friends and family!
The time table for the Cooking Classes is:
10.00/10.30 a.m. arrival at the farm (if the cooking class includes lunch at 13.30) or at 16.00/16.30 p.m. (if it includes dinner at about 19.30).
Picking of products from the orchard to be used in various preparations, vegetables and herbs from the large garden and eggs from the chicken coop under the house.
During the class we will serve a typical snack and a glass of Chianti wine.
Preparation of at least two first courses: pasta dishes (tagliatelle or ravioli) or gnocchi (potato dumplings) made by the students in the traditional way without the use of machinery of any kind, accompanied by their sauces.
Preparation of one main dish and a dessert.
Lunch/dinner, including Chianti wine.
Of course, we can always add variations on the basis of any specific request and dietary need.
Depending on the time of the year we suggest these dishes in the scheduled time, we suggest, for example:
Crostini with spleen or liver
Crostini with cabbage and bacon Potato gnocchi with eggplant sauce or pesto
Handmade tagliatelle al ragu (with meat or sausage, zucchini and saffron)
Beetroot ravioli or spinach and ricotta ravioli
Chicken fillet in Vin Santo
Chicken or rabbit with saffron
Tomatoes au gratin
Chocolate Fudge Cake
